  • Comminute supervise the safety & security departmental operations, ensuring adequate patrol patterns and frequencies are maintained to ensure the safety and security of guests and associates.
  • Responsible for checking patrolling equipment and all fire, life & safety equipment are within the expiry limits (such as hand held chemical extinguishers etc).
  • Ensure prompt reporting of maintenance issues by safety & security officers as they record them during their patrols.
  • Conduct random bag inspections of associates entering and leaving the building. Ensure asset removal policy is adhered to, to prevent hotel assets being removed from the hotel without the proper authority.
  • All security associates will maintain their communication equipment in good working order.
  • Follow prescribed practices to ensure theft and pilferage of goods is minimized.
  • Provide escort services for associates carrying cash, where required.
  • Maintain perimeter patrols at points of entry and egress to ensure that all people within the hotel environs have a genuine purpose to be there and are not loitering or are present for other reasons.
  • Carry out random checks to ensure master keys, which have been issued, are all accounted for and in the possession of the staff that have accepted responsibility for them.
  • Counsel, train and maintain the morale of the safety & security associates to ensure they are performing to the standard required.
  • Ensure a member of the department is in attendance at all safety & security related incidents within the hotel. Review reports submitted and conduct a follow up investigation to uncover how the accident/incident occurred, the person(s) responsible (taking necessary further action) and how this can be prevented in the future.
  • Design internal reporting systems required by the department.
  • Develop procedures for implementation and monitoring of reporting systems, keeping trace of all accidents and incidents for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with business operations laws.
  • Develop and review performance standards for operations in the department.
  • Develop appropriate administrative policies and procedures in accordance with hotel goals and guidelines
  • Prepare and maintain files, reports, letters, memorandums and other relevant business documentation.
  • Ensure all reporting and servicing deadlines are met on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining good working connections and relations with the PSB.
  • Train and conduct professional and accurate investigation on all Employee and Guests incidents promptly within 24 hours. Use of required Hotel forms and report guidelines are required.
  • Fully knowledge and train all your staff on how to act on emergency procedures including Bomb Threats, Blackmailing and other acts of crime.
  • Complete a full plan for hotel’s evacuation plan with details information, plan lists, fire brigade team, etc.
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by your supervisor or other department’s managers/directors.
  • Be open minded to changes in procedures as to better satisfy our Guests.
  • To control expenses and cost of equipment and supplies within your department and also to advise other departments of wastage.
  • To reduce losses through employee and Guests pilferage.
  • Monitor productivity of the unit.
  • Manage training of associates and development using the Hotel  Human Resources Management System. Ensure that a planned training business plan is in place and regular training is carried out on a one-on-one or group basis.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of orientation programs for all new associates.
  • Implement performance appraisals, providing regular guidance and goal setting where appropriate.
  • Abide by the Hotel  Guest Satisfaction System.
  • Abide by hotel’s Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and the hotel’s Associate Handbook.
  • Training of ALL Departments on all issues of Safety and Security.
  • Ensure Departmental “A” performers are coached, guided and groomed for career advancement.
  • Confidentiality is part of management’s responsibility.
  • Conduct random locker inspections with HR Department
  • Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints. Communicate with guests in a manner, which promotes goodwill, trust and satisfaction.
  • Ensure a high level of cleanliness & tidiness is maintained in you’re the work area. Maintain personal presentation standards to hotel and Hotel standards. Demonstrate professional attitude and behavior at all times.
  • All Safety and Security Staff are well groomed and dressed in accordance to the Hotel’s P & P.
  • All S & S staff is Guest Contact staff and adhere to all Guest contact requirements like warm and smile greeting for all guest.
  • All S & S staff will be trained on answering all Guest questions and request by taking responsibility and do NOT pass it on to other associates.
  • Conduct random inspections of the hotel to ensure that safety and security practices are being followed, Fire exits are not blocked, equipment is not obstructing fire hose reel doors, clearance between stacked goods and sprinkler heads is sufficient etc.
  • Be familiar with current first aid and fire emergency procedures and ensure all Security associates are ready to respond as per established procedures.
  • Be pro-active in all aspects of Safety and Security with all areas of the hotel, and responsible to inform all Department Heads and/or Senior Management.
  • Report all Fire and other Safety hazards to Department Heads and Sections for rectification. Follow-up as required to ensure proper action is taken.
  • Provide and conduct professional and courteous relationship with the Public Security Bureau and Fire Division to ensure a safe and good operation for our Hotel.
  • Conduct Monthly fire drill to ensure all Departments are properly aware of their responsibility and procedures. Provide report on success of each drill and make recommendations to improve.
  • Liaise with the Chief Engineer in regards to practical training of associates in elements of fire fighting, safety inspections, and evacuation drills etc. Ensure regular training sessions are held with the hotels fire-fighting team to establish and maintain required skill level.
  • Coordinate operations within and between other departments/units and cultivate good working relations.
  • Interact with departments and hotel associates in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two-way communication.
  • Effective communications to other section and Departments on all Safety and Security concerns through daily meetings and follow-up calls whenever required.
  • Understanding of other department’s requirements and assisting whenever possible to work as a team to service all Guests.
  • To maintain an “Open Door” communication policy with all Staff.
  • Maintain effective up and down, and left and right communication.
  • Basic knowledge of Personnel Computer for report writing and filing, and  Fidelio Property Management System.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written,Good relationship with government agencies.
  • Knowledge of hotel fire and life safety systems, thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
  • 3 years and above extensive security experience.
  • Training and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in International hotels. Basic knowledge of each department operations. Pre-opening experience is a plus.
